Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify competitive pricing, supplier performance, and industry trends, ensuring strategic purchasing decisions.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and delivery conditions, enhancing the company's profit margins.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration, reliability, and continuous improvement in supply chain processes.
  • Analyze inventory levels and forecast demand to optimize stock levels, avoiding both overstock and stockouts to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and finance, to align purchasing activities with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate supplier performance and purchasing effectiveness, driving accountability.
  • Manage the procurement process from requisition through to payment, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Stay updated on market developments, emerging suppliers, and innovative procurement solutions to drive competitive advantages.
  • Prepare detailed reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance for senior management review.
  • Lead and mentor junior purchasing staff, promoting best practices and professional development within the procurement team.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience with procurement software and ERP systems to streamline purchasing processes and improve efficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market trends to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation skills, demonstrating a proven track record of achieving cost savings and favorable supplier agreements.
  • Effective communication skills in English, with proficiency in additional languages being a distinct advantage.
  • Proven leadership abilities, capable of guiding and developing a team while fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Cultural awareness and adaptability, with the ability to work effectively in a diverse and global environment.
