Job Description

Due to the continued growth of our Commercial/TMT practice, we now have a vacancy for a qualified senior associate who has ideally covered a range of commercial and TMT matters in their current role. The focus will very much be on a mixed role dealing with a broad commercial workload.

Job requirements

The Main Responsibilities Will Be

  • to lead review, negotiation and drafting of a range commercial and technology agreements including:
    • Outsourcing and procurement
    • Technology transactions
    • Agency, distribution and franchising
    • Sponsorship and brand licensing;
    • A range of general commercial contracts covering advertising, consultancy, procurement, distribution and supply chain issues.
  • Advising on complex commercial transactional structuring;
  • Advising on TMT and legal/regulatory issues, including data privacy, telecoms and media regulation;
  • Supporting technology due diligence on corporate transactions;
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships;
  • Supporting the development and assisting implementation of marketing and business development campaigns;
  • Delivering client training and public presentations on legal topics; and
  • Leading the preparation and delivery of proposals, pitches and legal training materials.
Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • a PQE level of 6+ years of post-qualification experience;
  • a strong academic background, training and experience gained with a well-recognised firm , with an established presence in the Commercial/TMT sector;
  • 2:1 (or higher) degree classification (or equivalent);
  • a genuine interest in developing their career with the leading Commercial/TMT practice in the Middle East;
  • confidence and initiative with a keenness to assume responsibility, work independently and take a pro-active and commercial approach to solving issues;
  • strong inter-personal skills and a genuine interest in marketing and business development;
  • experience in the preparation of legal training material and/or delivery of training seminars or lectures would be an advantage.

Description Of The Work Group

The MENA IPTC Group, handles the specialist areas of Intellectual Property, Technology and Commercial matters. The team has a regional remit, and is based across the firms Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh and Jeddah offices.

Essentially, we are commercial lawyers with particular expertise in complex commercial contracts and arrangements. The team advises on all kinds of commercial matters including agency, distribution, franchising, marketing agreements, hotel and restaurant management and sale of goods.
