Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Design Development & Documentation
- Lead architectural design from concept to detailed construction drawings.
- Ensure designs comply with Egyptian building codes, zoning laws, and local regulations.
- Prepare and review architectural drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Develop 3D models and renderings for client presentations
- BOQ & Cost Estimation
- Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQ) in compliance with Egyptian measurement standards (e.g., ECP 201).
- Conduct cost estimation and value engineering to align design with budget constraints.
- Coordinate with quantity surveyors and contractors for BOQ validation.
- Monitor project budgets and provide cost-control recommendations
- Project Coordination & Management
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination (structural, MEP, landscape) to ensure design integrity.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and client expectations.
- Oversee design revisions and approvals from local authorities.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Present design proposals to clients and stakeholders in Arabic and English.
- Liaise with government entities for permits and approvals.
- Prepare progress reports and presentations for project updates.
- Manage client expectations and address concerns promptly
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Education & Certification
Bachelor's degree in Architecture (or equivalent accredited institution)
Master's degree in Architecture or related field preferred
Registration with Egyptian Syndicate of Engineers
PMP or equivalent project management certification (preferred)
2. Professional Experience
Minimum 5 years of continuous architectural experience
At least 3 years in a senior role managing projects >10,000 sqm
Proven track record in:
Residential/commercial projects
Mixed-use developments
Governmental/hospitality projects (preferred)
Experience working with international design firms (advantageous)
3. Technical Skills
Expert in:
AutoCAD
Revit
3D Max/SketchUp (advanced rendering)
Proficient in:
Adobe Creative Suite
MS Office
BOQ software (CostX or equivalent)
Deep knowledge of:
Egyptian building codes and regulations
HBRC submission requirements
Local construction methods and materials
4. BOQ & Costing Expertise
Minimum 3 years hands-on BOQ preparation experience
Thorough understanding of:
Egyptian measurement standards
Local material costs and availability
Labor productivity rates in Egyptian market
Experience with:
Value engineering
Cost control systems
Tender documentation preparation
5. Language & Communication
Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken)
Excellent technical report writing skills
Strong presentation and negotiation abilities
Experience dealing with multinational teams
6. Soft Skills
Leadership and team management capabilities
Problem-solving and decision-making skills
Time management and multitasking abilities
