Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Develop and implement security policies and procedures that comply with maritime, port, and logistics regulations.
- Oversee all aspects of physical security for offices, warehouses, terminals, vessels, and transport routes.
- Manage and supervise the security team, including guards and contracted security services.
- Conduct risk assessments for shipping operations, cargo handling, and facility access points.
- Monitor and maintain security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms, tracking devices).
- Coordinate security operations with port authorities, customs, and other governmental agencies.
- Investigate incidents such as theft, cargo loss, or breaches of security, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain emergency response and crisis management plans, including for maritime threats.
- Ensure compliance with international shipping security standards (e.g., ISPS Code) and local laws.
- Train employees on security protocols, awareness, and incident reporting procedures.
- Prepare regular reports on security performance, risk assessments, and compliance status for senior management.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum 5 7 years of experience in security management, preferably within shipping, logistics, or port operations.
- Strong understanding of port security protocols, maritime regulations, and cargo protection measures.
- Bachelor s degree in security management, Law Enforcement, Maritime Studies, or related field.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using security technologies (CCTV, GPS tracking, access control).
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies
