1. Job Description: Seafood Processing Plant Manager

Job Title: Seafood Processing Plant Manager
Location: Saudi Arabia

Job Purpose:
To oversee the daily operations of a seafood processing facility, ensuring high standards of hygiene, efficiency, and quality (particularly in smoking salmon and filleting). The manager will supervise teams, ensure compliance with food safety standards (e.g., ISO 22000), manage production schedules, and coordinate with supply chain, QA, and maintenance departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage daily seafood processing operations, including filleting, portioning, smoking, chilling, packing, and labeling, ensuring consistent output and product quality.
  • Develop and execute production plans aligned with sales forecasts, ensuring timely delivery while optimizing resource utilization.
  • Monitor and report daily production quantities, yield, and labor efficiency; identify gaps and implement corrective actions to achieve performance targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the plant, focusing on workflow optimization, productivity increase, waste reduction, and energy efficiency.
  • Coordinate factory expansion or layout improvement projects in collaboration with management and engineering teams to support growth and operational scale-up.
  • Supervise, train, and develop production staff to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, hygiene protocols, and safety regulations.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety systems (HACCP, ISO 22000), traceability requirements, and local regulatory standards.
  • Oversee end-to-end quality control processes, from raw material reception to final product dispatch, ensuring high standards are maintained at every stage.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering to ensure equipment reliability and reduce downtime through preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and implement data-driven solutions to improve plant performance.
  • Support new product development and process changes by validating trial runs and scaling up successful concepts for commercial production.
  • Maintain accurate records and generate reports on KPIs including output, yield, downtime, rework, and quality deviations.
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and efficient product dispatch.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Food Technology, Marine Science, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in seafood processing, preferably in salmon filleting and smoking.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience with food safety systems and certifications (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000).
  • Good command of English; Arabic is a plus.
  • Knowledge of equipment used in seafood processing (filleting machines, smokers, vacuum packers, etc.)
