Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Provides responsive technical and functional field level maintenance support to its customers.

  • Provides telephonic assistance to resolve a problem, but if necessary, provide direct assistance at the supported customer s location.
  • Maintains secure encrypted wireless intranet network and oversight of operations to ensure compliance with PSW and DA Regulations as required.
  • Administrate, install and repair current LIS software and others as required.
  • Install SCP/ICP, collect, store and organizes LIS backups as per Continues of Operations Plan (COOP).
  • Coordinate with Tobyhanna FRA for replacement or repair of LIS Hardware.
  • Provide 24/7 on call customer service support to LIS clients.
  • Liaison between Theater SASMO and SEC Lee. Coordinate with LIS customer to install new software loads to ensure there will be little disruption to daily activity.
  • Should be proficient in GCSS-Army business tasks and seek assistance through the GCSS-Army Production
  • Support Center using help desk ticket procedures.
  • Instruct Military and Civilian personnel in GCSS Army both in a class room setting and on-site assistance
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • A valid driver s license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator s License and host nation Driver s License, is required.
  • Bachelor s degree in computer science or related field preferred. Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements. One (1) year of college is equivalent to one (1) year of experience, etc. Combination of work experience and education will be considered.

Must be certified one of the following within six months of hire date:

  • A+: Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA)
  • Network+: CompTIA

Experience:

  • Two years experience installing, operating, and performing maintenance on multi-functional/multi-user information processing systems and peripheral equipment and auxiliary devices.
  • Minimum of two years experience with DOD, MILNET, or equal system experience.
  • Preferably Two years experience in working with and experience training GCSS-Army.
  • 2 years experience with Microsoft Windows operation systems, data communications, network management and/or Cisco equipment and the latest office site software.
  • Must have at least two years of direct management of data communications and network management, as required to operate and maintain the WAN/LAN.

Skills:

  • Requires advanced knowledge of GCSS-Army, UNIX, LIS and RFID
  • Must have the ability to isolate AND fix problems in functional/non-functioning equipment systems or software
  • Must be able to identify and act on unique or recurring customer issues
  • Must possess the ability to analyze and solve technical issues by utilizing problem solving ability and strong trouble shooting techniques
  • Must have high-level organizational and planning skills.
  • Must have high level of proficiency in the use of MS Office, including work, Excel, Outlook and other related applications.
  • Must have excellent communications skills, both written and oral.
  • Preferred to have CASCOM level GCSS-Army certification for instructing GCSS -Army Training.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

Physical Requirements:

  • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
