Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP PP/DS (Production Planning & Detailed Scheduling) Consultant with over 10 years of hands-on experience in SAP PP and strong expertise in S/4HANA PP/DS. The consultant will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing production planning and scheduling solutions to enhance manufacturing efficiency, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP PP/DS implementations, including business requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
• Configure and optimize Master Data (Material Master, Work Centers, BOMs, Routings, PDS/PPM).
• Design and implement planning strategies make-to-stock (MTS), make-to-order (MTO), and engineer-to-order (ETO).
• Develop and maintain heuristics, planning procedures, pegging strategies, and alerts in PP/DS.
• Define and optimize detailed scheduling, finite capacity planning, and sequence optimization.
• Integrate PP/DS with APO, MM, SD, QM, PM, and MES systems.
• Work closely with production, supply chain, and business teams to analyze bottlenecks and improve planning accuracy.
• Support S/4HANA embedded PP/DS implementations, ensuring compatibility with advanced planning functions.
• Provide technical documentation, end-user training, and post-go-live support.
• Collaborate with ABAP and integration teams for custom enhancements, reports, and interfaces (CIF, IDocs, BAPIs).
• Participate in upgrade projects, migration, and system performance tuning.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of SAP experience, with strong functional expertise in SAP PP and PP/DS modules.
• Deep understanding of:
• Master Data: BOM, Routing, Work Center, PDS, PPM, Production Version
• Planning: Demand Management, MRP, Long-Term Planning, Capacity Planning
• Execution: Shop Floor Control, Production Orders, Confirmation, Goods Movement
• PP/DS Specifics:
• Heuristics (Standard & Custom)
• Planning Board and Detailed Scheduling
• Alerts Management and Order Prioritization
• CIF Integration with ECC/S4
• PP/DS Optimization and Performance Tuning
• Strong integration knowledge with MM (Material Management), SD (Sales & Distribution), QM (Quality Management), and PM (Plant Maintenance) modules.
• Hands-on experience in S/4HANA embedded PP/DS environment is mandatory.
• Ability to work with technical teams (ABAP, BW, PI/PO) for interfaces and enhancements.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience in manufacturing industries (automotive, pharma, FMCG, or process manufacturing) is preferred.

Good to Have

• Experience with SAP IBP (Integrated Business Planning) or APO SNP.
• Familiarity with MES integration (e.g., SAP ME, Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell).
• Knowledge of Fiori apps and analytics for PP/DS.
• Exposure to AI/ML-based predictive planning tools or RPA in production planning.
• SAP Certification in PP/DS or S/4HANA Manufacturing.
