Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Job Purpose
The Sales Engineer is the primary customer-facing representative of the company, responsible for developing business opportunities, maintaining strong relationships with customers, contractors, and consultants, and converting enquiries into profitable orders for Electrical LV Switchgear and Automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development:
Actively identify, develop, and pursue new sales opportunities in the Qatar market.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with customers, contractors, consultants, and end users.
Attend client meetings, site visits, and technical discussions to understand requirements.
Promote company capabilities in:
LV Switchgear Panels
Control & Automation Systems
VFD / Soft Starter Panels
Service, retrofit, and upgrade works
Achieve order bookings aligned with company business objectives.
RFQ & Quotation Coordination:
Receive RFQs directly from customers and ensure timely registration through the company system.
Coordinate with internal teams (Sales & Operations Coordinator, Estimation, Design, Service) for:
Technical clarifications.
Site visit arrangements.
Costing and proposal preparation.
Review draft quotations prepared by the backend team and submit finalized offers to customers.
Handle negotiations, clarifications, and revisions until order closure.
Order Closure & Customer Follow-up:
Convert quotations into confirmed orders within targeted timelines.
Maintain continuous follow-up with customers on:
Quotation status.
Order confirmations.
Delivery schedules.
Commercial clarifications.
Support payment follow-ups in coordination with Accounts when required.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Performance will be monitored through measurable parameters including but not limited to:
Order Booking Value (monthly / quarterly).
Quotation-to-Order Conversion Ratio.
Customer Retention & Repeat Orders.
Timely Follow-up & Responsiveness.
Accuracy of Customer Requirements Captured.
Quality of Customer Relationships & Market Coverage
(Commission and incentive structure will be defined separately.)
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience & Mandatory Requirements:
3–4 years of relevant sales experience in Electrical LV Switchgear & Automation industry.
Valid Qatar Driving License – Mandatory.
Established customer / contractor / consultant base in Qatar.
Strong understanding of the local market, tendering practices, and project environment.
Skills & Competencies:
Proven capability to sell technical solutions.
Excellent customer relationship and communication skills.
Commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
Self-driven, result-oriented, and accountable.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams.
Preferred (Added Advantage):
Experience with industrial, infrastructure, utilities, or MEP projects in Qatar.
Familiarity with documentation flow and internal sales processes.
Comfortable working in a system-driven sales environment.
