Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Job purpose:
To ensure a safe and well-organized environment within the campus by overseeing the implementation of security and safety procedures, supervising security teams, and responding promptly to emergencies, in a manner that protects students, employees, contractors, and visitors, safeguards property, and supports the continuity of operations within the institute.
Main responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage security operations.
- Identify and taking preventive measures.
- Supervise and train security staff.
- Conduct investigations and prepare reports.
- Ensure compliance with security policies.
- Coordinate with relevant authorities and internal departments.
- Monitor and Maintain security systems and emergency plans.
Skills and Competencies:
- High security awareness and strong attention to detail.
- Solid knowledge of security procedures and safety regulations.
- Strong leadership and effective team management skills.
- Advanced investigation and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and make timely decisions.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in security systems, surveillance technologies, and digital reporting tools.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications:
- A professional diploma or an accredited professional certification in safety and security or any related field, earned after a high school certificate.
- Security certifications (IOSH/NEBOSH optional, Security Management, CCTV, Incident Investigation).
- Training in leadership, crisis management, and investigations.
- 5+ years in security & safety with supervisory experience (educational sector preferred).
- Experience in control room operations and security systems.
Experience:
- Proven ability to lead security teams, conduct investigations, and enforce safety policies.
- Experience in the educational/university sector preferred.
Application requirements:
- CV.
- Copy of educational qualifications (High School Diploma as a minimum requirement; relevant security certifications).
- Copies of professional security certifications (if applicable, e.g., IOSH/NEBOSH, Security Management, CCTV, Incident Investigation).
- Proof of work experience in security and safety, including supervisory roles.
- Any additional training certificates in leadership, crisis management, or investigations.
