Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The role holder is responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair, overhaul and troubleshooting of rotating equipment (steam turbine, gas turbine, centrifugal/ reciprocating compressors and pumps) and its auxiliaries. Familiarized completely with the allocated area of work, the equipment / machinery involved and general idea of the process for which he is responsible for the maintenance activities. They will carry out day to day basic maintenance jobs independently under normal supervision. Housekeeping is an important issue, as is the proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment. They must ensure that all the activities are carried out in compliance with QAFCO occupational health, Quality, Safety, Energy and Environment procedures.


Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of High School + 2 years Diploma in relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years direct experience working in Fertilizer, Petrochemical, Chemical, or Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, with strong communication, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good knowledge of operations of steam turbines, gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, couplings, mechanical seals, heat exchanger, urea granulation and prilling mechanical equipment, hydraulic turbine and reactors
  • Good experience of maintenance of Ammonia, Urea, Melamine, desalination and chemical processing plant.
  • Familiar with engineering drawings, specifications and documentation; extract information; sketch process, logic sequence or electrical circuit of an engineering asset.
  • Familiar with different types of valves, storage tanks, compressors, gearboxes, pumps, vessels, exchangers, drums, pressure relieving devices, lubricant, and their function, selection criteria and usage.
  • Know how to use the full complement of firefighting equipment and understand the Permit to Work (PTW) system.
