Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Road Safety Operative (RSO) is responsible to the Senior Officer - Airside (SOA) for ensuring that the General Service Equipment (GSE) road network is patrolled on a consistent 24 / 7 basis and that all drivers utilising the GSE road network maintain the highest levels of safety and compliance with the DXB Airside Driving Regulations (ADR’s), departmental policies, procedures and KPI’s.
The RSO will be responsible for patrolling the entire GSE road network at DXB including all of the basement tunnels. They will conduct daily, random driver and vehicle checks ensuring that Airside Driving Permits (ADP’s) and Airside Vehicle Permits (AVP’s) are all valid and appropriate to the vehicle being operated.
The RSO will be responsible for ensuring that driver behaviour on the GSE road network is in line with the DXB ADR’s and will intervene if any driver is observed to be exhibiting poor driving behaviours. The RSO will be responsible for raising awareness and educating drivers on the behaviours that are expected and will issue violations under the DXB ADR’s as and when appropriate
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum of 5 years’ experience operating airside at DXB or a major international airport of similar size and scale.
Extensive experience in driving on GSE road networks at DXB or an airport of equivalent size and scale as agreed by the Head of Airside Service delivery (HOASD).
Experience in operating successfully as part of a comprehensive Airside Safety Management System (SMS) at a large international airport of equivalent size and scale to that of DXB.
Experience in working at an operative level with the many stakeholders to be found airside at DXB or an airport of equivalent size and scale.
Minimum Qualifications/Education/Experience/Training/Knowledge
Qualifications:
- Degree
- Educated to High School diploma level
-Able to demonstrate the ability to perform and deliver within the technical competencies for the role as defined in section 7.
- Able to demonstrate a reasonable level of English language. (Minimum level 4A2 in the Pearson Global English step test or an alternative assessment that has been aligned to the ICAO standards.)
- Must hold a current, valid UAE / GCC driving license.
- Must have held an Airside Driving Permit (minimum level 2) at DXB or an airport of equivalent size and scale for at least two years
