Roles & Responsibilities


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates core values and safety standards according to the H&P way

Ensures the safe operation of the facility, including the work site, equipment and personnel that come directly under their control and complies with health, safety and environmental legislation

Directs and supervises work of area personnel; determines work priorities and schedules work assignments; interviews and recommends candidates; evaluates, orients, counsels, and trains subordinate personnel and recommends associated personnel action

Defines projects objectives; develops operating plan; including manpower requirements, in compliance with senior management decisions. Develops programs to comply with organization requirements

Analyzes and oversees drilling operations including safety and recommends changes in procedures to meet goals and objectives

Identifies, develops, and recommends revision of standards, operating procedures, and new programs to reduce operating cost and improve efficiency; provides team with clear and concise written and verbal guidelines

Investigates incidents, accidents and injuries and submits reports

Plans and directs team to erect, dismantle, and move drilling rigs

Plans delivery of drilling tools, fuel, water, and other supplies for use at drill site

Inspects rig and submits rig condition reports

Monitors the conditions of drilling rigs and equipment to ensure preventive maintenance procedures are followed

RIG MANAGER

Evaluates well bore to determine result of drilling

Serves as a liaison with leased oil site operating personnel

Prepares reports for managerial review concerning drilling progress, operational problems, and equipment requirements

Up to date on current WorkDay trainings as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Proficient in PC and software such as E.A.M., H&P applications and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams)

Must have proven leadership skills

Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Must be committed to the H&P Way and H&P s core values of Actively C.A.R.E., Service Attitude, Innovative Spirit, Teamwork, and Do the Right Thing

Demonstrated commitment to H&P s Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and CARE processes (COACH people-based safety, Compass Cards, LifeBelts, JSAs, hot-work, confined space entry, lock-out/tag-out, dropped object prevention, etc.) with a proven track record

Must have the ability to communicate with partner/customers, to effectively handle concerns, performance reviews and to ensure customer satisfaction in general

A demonstrated ability to use critical thinking skills to effectively leverage all resources, both people and equipment

Must be a team player

Demonstrate ability to manage rig maintenance and schedules

Must have superior interpersonal and communication skills

Very flexible and adaptable, able to overcome

Ensures compliance with H&P policies and makes recommendations to coordinate with local requirements

Liaises with statutory authorities

In conjunction with site and in country management, recommends and is responsible for implementing safety and security measures for protection of:

i. Personnel against threat or injury

ii. Intrusion or threat of intrusion by trespassers

iii. Company property and assets against loss from sources, such as fire and theft to include intellectual property and proprietary assets

iv. IT software and hardware, including guarding against IT threats, including identifying risks and seeking assistance from Corporate IT resources

Provides regular updates and reports and partners closely with the Operations Manager and Superintendent

Ensures the employee relations environment facilitates an uninterrupted supply of labor and fulfils management practices to ensure compliance with relevant legislation

Willingness to learn and understand the application of relevant Saudi legislation as it pertains to Drilling, HSE obligations and expectations, financial reporting and audit, Immigration, Import / Export / logistics, Employee Relations

Ability to effectively work in indigenous environments

6 years of rig drilling experience at the Supervisory level
