Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

As a critical member of our drilling operations team, you will be responsible for:

  • Drilling Program Design: Planning and designing safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling programs and procedures.
  • Operational Supervision: Providing real-time engineering support and supervision for drilling, completion, and workover operations.
  • Technical Analysis: Performing detailed drill string design, BHA optimization, hydraulics calculations, and torque/drag modeling.
  • Equipment Specification: Selecting and specifying appropriate drilling equipment, tools, and technologies for various well programs.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitoring daily drilling operations, analyzing performance data, and implementing optimization measures.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential operational hazards and implementing preventive measures to ensure HSE compliance.
  • Cost Control: Preparing AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) estimates and monitoring drilling expenditures against budget.
  • Reporting: Preparing detailed daily drilling reports, end-of-well reports, and technical documentation.

Desired Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in drilling engineering with offshore/onshore drilling operations
  • Extensive knowledge of drilling operations, well control principles, and oilfield equipment
  • Expert Proficiency in industry-standard software is ESSENTIAL:
    • Landmark suite (WELLPLAN, Compass, Drillbench)
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel for data analysis)
    • WellView or similar drilling reporting software
    • CAD software for technical drawings
  • Strong understanding of HSE regulations and standards in the oil and gas industry
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Outstanding communication and leadership abilities in English
  • IWCF Well Control Certification preferred
