Job Description

The Architectural Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a highly qualified Research Assistant to support a project focused on occupant comfort, group dynamics, and environmental monitoring in shared indoor environments. The candidate will be involved in experimental setup, participant recruitment, field data collection (questionnaires, interviews, environmental monitoring), data analysis, and preparation of academic publications. The position is intended for a PhD-track candidate.

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor s and Master s degrees in Architectural Engineering, Building Science, Environmental Psychology, or a related field from a reputable university.
• Strong technical background in environmental data monitoring and human subject research.
• Demonstrated experience in statistical analysis and qualitative research methods.
• Excellent academic writing skills, with the ability to produce technical reports and research manuscripts.
• High level of initiative, flexibility, and ability to work independently on research tasks.
  
  

• A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals or conferences.
• Experience in designing and executing behavioral or environmental experiments.
• Familiarity with thermal comfort studies, occupant behavior modeling, or social influence research.
• Knowledge of UAE cultural context, especially related to group dynamics and gender-based studies.
• Experience with research ethics protocols and human subjects approval processes.
