Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement the reliability framework in accordance with standards and requirements.
  • Manage the Failure and Corrective Action Reporting System (FRACAS) and maintain up-to-date information for analysis.
  • Conduct studies and root cause analyses to identify the causes of failures and recommend solutions.
  • Analyze shift, weekly and monthly reports to eliminate repeated failures and develop engineering solutions.
  • Manage the predictive maintenance (PdM) program, consolidating inspection information and generating a visualization of results.
  • Manage the tools and devices in good condition as well as their calibration, and perform functional tests regularly.
  • Coordinate and support the implementation of the correct preventive maintenance (PM) tasks.
  • Develop and monitor periodic revisions of risk matrices for all sections of engineering services.
  • Use data analysis techniques such as statistical analysis, reliability, availability, maintainability, fault tree analysis, etc.
  • Communicate safety alerts and risk signals from manufacturers to staff.
  • Define and implement policies, processes and tools to ensure the continuous improvement of equipment reliability.
  • Estimate the need for engineering personnel, coordinate and supervise the use of other engineers and technicians.
  • Evaluate critical assessments, equipment strategies and risk assessments to ensure consistency and compliance with company procedures and policies.
  • Update the equipment criticality analysis as needed for expansion.
  • Provide technical support and reliability contributions in the optimization of preventive maintenance (PMO).
  • Assemble and distribute information on equipment condition and reliability performance.
  • Communicate reliability issues via local team meetings and scoreboards.
  • Engage the Reliability Community of Practice through regular conference calls with peers and global reliability engineering.
  • Engineering diploma (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in equipment reliability, fault analysis and solutions.
  • In-depth experience in the following techniques and strategies: reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), statistical analysis techniques, criticality analysis and benchmarking.
  • Experience in conducting root cause analyses. Familiarity with several root cause analysis methods; selection of the appropriate tool for the event; 5 Why, Ishikawa, Failure Tree, PROACT.
  • In-depth knowledge of condition monitoring techniques, including vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasound.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of the port industry.
  • The candidate must possess effective analytical skills in problem solving, the ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy, be able to learn and work with specific software tools, and reliability.
  • Experience in interpreting and applying industry standards (ISO, BSI, ASME, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate and make formal presentations in English.
