Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive medical examinations to assess the health and functional status of the center's members and new cases to determine their admission to the center.
  • Diagnosing medical conditions related to visual impairment and accompanying disabilities (mental, motor, auditory, etc.).
  • Assessing the medical and rehabilitation needs of each case individually.
  • Design and develop individual medical rehabilitation plans in coordination with the multidisciplinary team (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychologist, and optometrist).
  • Follow up on the implementation of rehabilitation programs and make necessary adjustments based on the assessment of case progression.
  • Monitoring the health status of members during their participation in rehabilitation activities and programs.
  • Providing primary medical care when needed and referring cases requiring specialized intervention to approved medical facilities.
  • Rapid intervention in the event of emergencies such as seizures, accidents, or respiratory problems.
  • Educating members' families about their children's health status and explaining the medical and rehabilitation procedures followed.
  • Providing health guidance related to daily living and preventing health complications related to disability.
  • Attending periodic meetings of the multidisciplinary team to discuss and update treatment plans.
  • Contributing to committees that evaluate and accept new members to the center.
  • Preparing and updating medical and rehabilitation records for all members in accordance with approved standards.
  • Ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of medical information and storing it in a systematic and secure manner.
  • Performing any other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor in accordance with regulations, laws, and the field of expertise.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Doctorate in Rehabilitation (or accredited fellowship).
  • Diploma/Master of Medical Rehabilitation or Physical Medicine
  • Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy or Rehabilitation Medicine.
  • Valid license to practice the profession from the Ministry of Public Health or the relevant authorities.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience working with people with disabilities, preferably in rehabilitation centers specializing in visual or multiple disabilities.
  • Experience in assessing rehabilitation cases and developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English.
