Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

This unit is a specialised adult medical ward focused on respiratory care for patients with acute and chronic pulmonary conditions. It operates 24/7 and serves as a key component of the hospital s medical services.

Capacity & Structure

  • Beds: Typically 20 25 beds
  • Environment: Equipped for intermediate to high-acuity respiratory cases
  • Purpose: Manages patients requiring advanced respiratory support outside ICU

Patient Population

Adults with:

  • COPD exacerbations
  • Asthma attacks
  • Pneumonia and severe respiratory infections
  • Post-thoracic surgery recovery
  • Patients requiring oxygen therapy or non-invasive ventilation

Key Services & Nursing Interventions

  • Continuous oxygen saturation and vital sign monitoring
  • Non-invasive ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP) setup and management
  • Nebulisation therapy and airway clearance techniques
  • Chest physiotherapy coordination
  • IV medication and antibiotic administration
  • Patient education on respiratory care and discharge planning

Desired Candidate Profile

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Current licensure as a professional registered nurse
  • Eligible for registration with Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
  • Minimum of two (2) years of current respiratory clinical nursing experience following licensure/registration in the country of origin
