Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

What you ll do (key responsibilities):

  • Set and execute commercial strategy across all regional projects to meet business objectives.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with clients, consultants and subcontractors; secure commercially sound contract terms.
  • Own commercial risk: maintain and update risk registers, implement mitigation plans and manage exposures.
  • Support bids and tenders with pricing strategy, commercial input and contract review.
  • Produce and review monthly valuations, cost reports, cash-flow forecasts and other commercial reporting.
  • Allocate and manage commercial resources across the project portfolio for optimal coverage and efficiency.
  • Direct claims strategy, dispute resolution and coordination with legal/insurance advisors.
  • Coach, develop and performance-manage the commercial team (QSs, commercial managers and support staff).
  • Drive continuous improvement of commercial processes, templates and systems.
  • Deliver regular, high-level commercial reporting and KPI updates to senior leadership.

Who you are (skills & attributes):

  • Strategic commercial thinker with proven ability to run a multi-project commercial function.
  • Deep knowledge of commercial contracts, procurement, cost control and claims handling.
  • Strong financial literacy: forecasting, budgeting, valuations and P&L awareness.
  • Confident negotiator and adept at stakeholder management across client and internal senior levels.
  • Comfortable leading small to mid-sized teams, mentoring technical staff and influencing across disciplines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to present commercial positions clearly to executives.
  • Proficient with standard office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and commercial reporting systems.

Experience & qualifications:

  • GCC-based experience is a MUST.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Significant experience in senior commercial (lead/management-level) roles within construction or interior contracting (typically 5+ years in leadership).
  • Experience working across regional projects and familiarity with local contracting practices and market dynamics.
