Job Summary
Responsible for the design, integration, testing, and maintenance of tactical radio communication systems used in mission-critical operations. The role involves developing secure, high-performance RF networks enabling data, voice, and video transmission across ground, maritime, and airborne platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and integrate tactical radio systems (L3Harris, Silvus, Thales, Cobham, Doodle Labs, etc.)
• Conduct RF propagation studies, link budget calculations, and antenna selection for operational environments.
• Establish secure IP-based communication using IPsec/VPN tunnels and network encryption.
• Perform spectrum analysis, interference mitigation, and frequency management.
• Integrate radios with routers, switches, and firewalls for end-to-end network connectivity.
• Optimize RF and network parameters for maximum throughput, range, and reliability.
• Support field deployment, validation, and documentation of radio networks.
• Ensure compliance with MIL-STD, ITU, and TRA communication standards.
  

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of RF propagation, modulation, and antenna theory.
• Hands-on experience with tactical radios (L3Harris 7800W/9600W, Silvus Stream Caster, etc.).
• Proficiency in IP networking (IP, UDP/TCP, VLANs, QoS, routing, IPsec).
• Skilled in using spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and test equipment.
• Familiar with frequency hopping, ECCM, and secure communication protocols.
• Experience with planning tools like Pathloss, Radio Mobile, or MATLAB RF Toolbox.
