Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include the below among others:
Pre- Post Contract
· Execute the contract strategy for the project based on applicable laws in the executing location(s), Customer requirements, and the overall project execution strategy considering project risk, pricing, scope, and schedule. Use the contract strategy to prepare and implement the project contract execution plan.
· Provide ongoing support in the various aspects of contract management to the Project Manager and key members of the project team to ensure that sound prime contract management and (sub) contract formation/administration principles are applied throughout the contracts work process.
Claims/ EOT
· Collaborate with the project stakeholders to assess and determine entitlement, cause and effect and responsibilities for any alleged claims for additional costs and extension of time, and to enforce, preserve or otherwise defend Desert Group’s rights and entitlements in relation to any claims for or against any other parties, including customers, partners, vendors etc.
Project / Cost Control
· Responsible for effective execution of Project Control programs for assigned projects.
· Review contract drafts to ensure they include adequate cost and scope definition and meet Project Controls requirements.
· Provide proactively recommendations & advice on how to avoid any additional cost and where not possible how to minimize the costs of legitimate claims.
· Ensuring the successful execution of site construction contracts according to agreed commercial obligations, financial and qualitative targets.
· Ensuring all site costs are recorded in detail to provide transparent feedback in order to improve the tender and budget preparation of future contracts
Procurement
· Participate with the project team in defining and developing the scope of Procurement work, and in preparing and coordinating Procurement plans, procedures, schedules, estimates, forecasts and budgets.
Project Close- out
· Oversee and review the preparation and submittal of Final accounts for projects.
· Support Project Managers in managing and resolving disputes.
Other Duties
· Perform other related duties and responsibilities associated with the position.
Desired Candidate Profile
· Bachelor degree in Quantity Surveying/Civil Engineering from a recognized University.
· Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience at similar level.
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
· Bold personality, strong analytical, interpersonal and presentation skills preferred
· Must be able to demonstrate a high level of trust and confidentiality
· Passionate team player and driven to exceed results
· Good knowledge in Landscaping, Grounds maintenance and Irrigation
· UAE Driving License is must
· Experience in estimation, cost planning and evaluation of claims.
· Computer-literate performer with extensive software proficiency covering wide variety of applications.
· Good knowledge of statistical methods and their applications
· Demonstrate innovative approaches to problem solving and an ability to negotiate across the various levels of any construction environment.
· Dynamic with Initiative who can get the job done, strong personality
· Member of RICS, ICE, Institute of Commercial Management preferred
