Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage welding inspection activities, ensuring adherence to Aramco standards, international codes, and project specifications for all welding activities.
- Conduct thorough inspections of welding procedures, welder qualifications, and welding consumables to guarantee compliance and quality assurance.
- Review and approve welding procedure specifications (WPS) and procedure qualification records (PQR) to ensure they meet project requirements and Aramco standards.
- Monitor and evaluate welding performance, providing guidance and support to welders and welding inspectors to improve quality and efficiency.
- Prepare and review welding inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and other quality documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and Aramco representatives to resolve welding-related issues and ensure timely project completion.
- Conduct audits and surveillance of welding activities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide training and mentoring to welding inspectors and other personnel on welding inspection techniques and quality control procedures.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of welding codes, standards, and industry best practices, including Aramco standards, and their practical application.
- Ensure the proper calibration and maintenance of welding inspection equipment, such as ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), and visual inspection tools.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Holds a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from the American Welding Society (AWS) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in welding inspection and quality control, preferably within the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
- Extensive experience working on Aramco projects and a thorough understanding of Aramco standards and specifications is essential.
- Demonstrates proficiency in various welding processes, including SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and SAW.
- Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications.
- Strong knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, such as UT, RT, PT, and MT.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse teams.
- Must be fluent in English (written and spoken); Arabic language skills are a plus.
- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of welding inspectors.
