Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
� Inspect, monitor, and verify all painting and coating activities for piping, vessel interiors/exteriors, and storage tanks (internal/external), ensuring compliance with project specifications and international codes (ISO, SSPC, NACE, ASTM, etc.).
� Confirm surface preparation quality including blasting, cleaning, profile measurements, and environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point, etc.).
� Ensure proper selection, storage, mixing, and application of coatings and paints as per manufacturer’s data sheets and project requirements.
� Witness and document intermediate and final coat applications, dry film thickness (DFT) measurements, holiday testing, adhesion tests, hardness, and other relevant checks.
� Prepare and maintain comprehensive inspection reports, including surface preparation records, DFT logs, batch mixing certificates, and painting application histories.
� Identify and document any non-conformances (NCRs), recommend and ensure corrective actions, and follow up on closures.
� Coordinate with project/site engineers, production/manufacturing teams, and client or third-party inspectors for approvals and audits.
� Conduct toolbox talks on painting/coating safety and quality practices; ensure all HSE and regulatory requirements are met.
� Support pre-commissioning and punch-list activities as they relate to painting/coating systems.
� Stay updated on latest industry standards, coating technologies, and regulatory updates applicable to EPCC and manufacturing operations.
Desired Candidate Profile
1. Minimum 5 years of experience in painting/coating inspection for oil & gas, industrial, or EPCC projects in Oman or the GCC, including workshop/manufacturing environments.
2. Valid BGAS or NACE Level II Coating Inspector certificate (mandatory).
3. Hands-on expertise in inspection of piping external, vessel internal/external, and storage tank internal/external painting/coating applications.
4. Solid knowledge of applicable international codes and standards.
Experience working with multicultural teams in industrial/plant settings
