Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Source and procure MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and construction materials, equipment, and services, ensuring the best value and quality.
- Source and procure MEP and construction materials, equipment, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising quality.
- Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules, to optimize project budgets.
- Manage purchase orders from creation to closeout, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Evaluate supplier performance, maintain a database of approved vendors, and proactively seek out new and reliable sources.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and ensure timely material availability.
- Monitor market trends and price fluctuations to anticipate potential cost impacts and identify opportunities for savings.
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and supplier issues promptly, maintaining strong relationships with vendors.
- Prepare and analyze procurement reports, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and ethical sourcing practices in all procurement activities.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure efficient delivery, storage, and inventory management of purchased items.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Possession of relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIPS) is highly advantageous.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, specifically within the MEP and construction industry, candidates having local Oman market knowledge & experience is highly recommended .
- Proven track record of successful negotiation, cost savings, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, construction materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in using procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Must have the ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Must have Oman Driving License
