Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Role Purpose
To provide strategic leadership, overall direction, and operational management of multiple civil building construction projects from inception to completion. The Projects Director ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, to the required quality standards, and in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Leadership
- Provide leadership to the project management teams and establish a strong delivery culture across all projects.
- Develop and implement project delivery strategies, policies, and processes aligned with company goals.
- Contribute to long-term business planning, bidding strategy, and resource allocation decisions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and government authorities.
Project Delivery & Operations
- Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle — planning, design coordination, procurement, execution, and closeout.
- Monitor overall project performance, ensuring milestones, cost, quality, and safety KPIs are achieved.
- Resolve high-level technical, contractual, and operational issues across projects.
- Approve project budgets, schedules, and resource plans; ensure effective allocation of manpower, materials, and equipment.
- Drive adoption of project management best practices, construction methodologies, and innovative solutions.
Commercial & Risk Management
- Monitor commercial performance of projects and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Lead claims management, variations, and dispute resolution in coordination with contracts and legal teams.
- Identify and mitigate potential project risks proactively.
People & Performance Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop project managers and engineers to enhance team capabilities and succession planning.
- Foster a performance-driven, collaborative culture with focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance reviews and manage project leadership team’s KPIs and targets.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field. A master’s degree or Project Management certification (PMP, PMI) is a plus.
- Experience: At least 20+ years of experience in civil construction project management, with a minimum of 10+ years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Projects Director, Head of Projects, Senior Projects Manager, Area Manager).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), budgeting tools, and construction software.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and lead large, diverse teams.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certifications are a plus.
