Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Quality Management & Strategy
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) in line with client specifications, contractual requirements, ISO standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure quality objectives and KPIs are clearly defined and achieved throughout the project lifecycle.
- Promote a strong quality culture across the project team and subcontractors.
2. Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all project activities comply with ISO 9001, client requirements, and applicable industry codes and standards.
- Liaise with client representatives (e.g., ADNOC QA/QC teams) to align quality expectations and resolve quality issues promptly.
3. Quality Control Oversight
- Supervise QC Inspectors, ensuring inspection and test plans (ITPs) are followed for civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation works.
- Prepare, review, and approve Method Statements and work procedures before commencement of works.
- Monitor and verify that all equipment, materials, and workmanship meet approved specifications.
4. Material Approval Process
- Prepare and submit Material Approval Requests (MARs) in coordination with engineering and procurement teams.
- Review supplier submittals, technical datasheets, and compliance documents prior to submission to the client/consultant.
- Track MAR status and follow up to ensure timely approvals to avoid delays in procurement and installation.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain and control all quality-related documentation including inspection reports, material certificates, calibration records, and test results.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly quality reports to project management and the client.
- Manage the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) system, including issuance, follow-up, and close-out.
6. Audits & Inspections
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct internal quality audits and support external/client audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audit findings and preventive action implementation.
- Conduct joint inspections with client representatives and consultants.
7. Material & Vendor Quality
- Review and approve vendor and supplier quality documents, manufacturing procedures, and inspection test plans.
- Carry out source inspections at supplier premises when required.
8. Training & Competency Development
- Conduct quality awareness sessions, toolbox talks, and targeted training for project staff.
- Coach and mentor QC inspectors and site engineers to improve quality performance.
9. Issue Resolution
- Investigate and resolve quality-related issues and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Escalate critical quality issues to project leadership for immediate attention.
Desired Candidate Profile
1. Educational Background
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
- Additional certifications in ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI, or equivalent are an advantage.
2. Experience
- Minimum 10–12 years of QA/QC experience in construction, EPC, or oil & gas projects, with at least 5 years in a senior quality role.
- Mandatory experience in preparing and reviewing Method Statements and Material Approval Requests (MARs) for ADNOC or similar high-standard projects.
- Proven track record of leading quality functions on ADNOC or other major client projects.
3. Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, ITPs, Method Statements, MARs, and applicable industry codes (ASME, API, ASTM, BS, ISO, etc.).
- Excellent documentation, report writing, and audit skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, document control systems, and quality management software.
4. Personal Attributes
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team.
- Strong communication skills in English; Arabic is an asset.
5. Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work at remote project sites and travel as required.
- Valid UAE Driving License (preferred).
- ADNOC project experience is a strong advantage.
