Position Summary

The Project Manager – Steel Projects will be responsible for leading, managing, and executing all phases of steel construction projects in Algeria. The role requires a seasoned project leader with hands-on experience in structural steel fabrication, erection, and installation—capable of driving project execution from design review to handover, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the complete lifecycle of steel construction projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery.
• Coordinate between design, fabrication, and erection teams to ensure smooth project progress and timely completion.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements to ensure technical compliance.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation plans.
• Supervise on-site activities, ensuring safe and efficient steel erection, welding, and alignment in compliance with standards.
• Interface with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to manage expectations and resolve issues.
• Conduct progress meetings, issue status reports, and ensure transparent communication across all project phases.
• Ensure full compliance with HSE and QA/QC standards across all project operations.
• Manage project teams and mentor engineers to achieve performance excellence.

Required Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth understanding of structural steel fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
• Strong knowledge of steel design drawings, connections, erection tolerances, and related codes/standards (AISC, ASTM, BS, etc.).
• Excellent project management and leadership abilities, with proven experience handling multi-million-dollar steel projects.
• Strong commercial acumen and familiarity with project contracts, change management, and cost control.
• Effective communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools (Primavera, MS Project) and strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in structural steel projects, with at least 5 years in a managerial/project leadership capacity.
• Proven track record in managing large-scale steel fabrication and erection projects (industrial, commercial, or infrastructure).
• Previous GCC or North African project experience is a strong advantage.
• PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials is preferred.
