Job Description

As a Project Manager in the ship repairing industry, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of a project's management from conception to execution. This role requires an individual with excellent leadership skills, technical knowledge, and strategic planning abilities to ensure the successful completion of ship repair projects. You will serve as the primary point of contact between clients, engineers, and contractors, ensuring that every phase of the project meets or exceeds industry standards and client expectations. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while also adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and implementation of ship repair projects from start to finish.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Develop detailed project plans to track progress and ensure timely completion.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring prudent spending and cost-effective operations.
  • Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations applicable to ship repairs.
  • Monitor and report on project progress to all stakeholders through regular updates and meetings.
  • Resolve any issues or bottlenecks that may arise during the project lifecycle effectively and efficiently.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction by managing customer service requests and maintaining strong relations.
  • Evaluate project performance against targets and propose improvements to future projects.
  • Facilitate good teamwork and synergy between project team members for optimal performance.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in ship repairing.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on team cohesion.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiating skills with clients and vendors.
  • Proficient in project management software tools and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Solid technical background with understanding of or hands-on experience in ship systems.
