Roles & Responsibilities

  • Key Responsibilities
  • A. Strategic Project Management
  • Provide overall leadership, direction, and accountability.
  • Align projects with CEDARE s strategic priorities and donor requirements.
  • Conduct project design reviews, risk assessments, and adaptive strategies.
  • Liaise with donors, partners, and government stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with measurable impact.
  • B. Planning & Implementation
  • Develop project work plans, budgets, and logical frameworks.
  • Oversee activity implementation with adherence to quality standards.
  • Manage project teams and consultants, offering mentorship and oversight.
  • C. Financial & Administrative Oversight
  • Ensure compliance with financial planning, budgeting, and donor regulations.
  • Monitor financial reporting, forecasting, and accountability.
  • Optimize resources while ensuring transparency.
  • D. Technical Leadership (Microfinance & Gender Mainstreaming)
  • Design and implement microfinance and inclusion programs for rural communities.
  • Promote climate-smart agricultural and water security practices.
  • Integrate gender and social inclusion in all project phases.
  • Track gender-sensitive indicators and adapt interventions as needed.
  • E. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (M&E)
  • Guide the M&E framework and track project KPIs.
  • Ensure data-driven decision-making through analysis and reporting.
  • Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
  • F. Reporting & Communication
  • Prepare high-quality technical and financial reports.
  • Disseminate results via reports, briefs, and presentations.
  • G. Contribution to CEDARE s Mandate
  • Contribute to annual work plans, research, and knowledge products.
  • Support resource mobilization (proposals, concept notes, partnerships).
  • Represent CEDARE at external forums, conferences, and workshops.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • University degree in Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Microfinance, or related fields (Master s preferred).
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in development project management, with emphasis on rural development, microfinance, and gender-responsive programming.
  • Proven track record in managing donor-funded projects and multi-disciplinary teams (international donor experience is essential).
  • Strong expertise in:
  • Microfinance & financial inclusion
  • Gender mainstreaming & women s economic empowerment
  • Climate-resilient agriculture & water management (desirable)
  • Financial administration skills: budgeting, forecasting, compliance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong research, analytical, and report-writing abilities.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic (written & spoken).
  • Age limit: not exceeding 40 years.
