Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Role Purpose:
The Project Engineer serves as the execution backbone of the DFAM & CEA functions, ensuring that every initiative is tracked, reported, and aligned with strategic objectives. With 65% focus on structured project management and 35% technical comprehension, this role ensures clear visibility over all DFAM and Capability & Engineering Advancement (CEA) activities. The role demands strong analytical capabilities to track progress, flag risks, coordinate cross-functional efforts, and report cost-saving achievements. This individual will act as the main control tower for DFAM s internal performance and project pipeline.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Governance & Reporting:
- Maintain up-to-date dashboards for all DFAM and CEA projects, detailing timeline, risk status, owner, and interdependencies.
- Generate weekly/monthly reports to the DFAM Director summarizing project statuses, risks, and action plans.
Ensure traceability and documentation of cost-saving opportunities, approvals, and realized savings per initiative.
- Risk & Issue Management:
- Monitor technical and cross-functional project risks, develop mitigation plans with engineering, supply chain, or manufacturing counterparts.
Escalate critical roadblocks with evidence-based impact assessments.
- Planning & Scheduling:
- Lead project scheduling using structured tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or JIRA) for prototyping, industrialization, and technical assessments.
Coordinate DFAM resource planning based on active and forecasted workload.
- Cross-Functional Alignment:
- Act as the liaison between DFAM technical teams and external stakeholders (engineering, procurement, operations).
Attend DFAM-related meetings with design teams and summarize technical discussions for management understanding.
- Cost Tracking & Value Reporting:
- Maintain a live tracker of DFAM-generated savings from design changes, procurement decisions, and supplier development.
Collaborate with finance and supply chain to validate savings data.
- Documentation & Standardization:
Support the standardization of DFAM project workflows, templates, and review checklists.
Main Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (Master s preferred)
- Minimum 8 12 years of relevant experience.
