Project Electrical Design Engineer

The Project Electrical Design Engineer performs a variety of electrical design tasks with minimal supervision and in accordance with agreed budget and schedule. The jobholder interacts with clients and stakeholders and provides electrical recommendations through the various stages of the projects.

• Develop electrical concept designs, including all required drawings and reports for discussion with clients
• Aid in the collection of internally available data to support project execution
• Refine selected design options into schemas and draft final designs, including all required drawings and reports
• Work closely with the other team members to optimize and develop fully integrated solutions
• Verify that applicable codes and engineering standard practices are being met
• Liaise with other departments/units to ensure a proper design coordination
• Prepare reports documenting all findings, conclusions and recommendations resulting from the analysis
• Closely work with senior team members for the revision and validation of design deliverables with clients and authorities, capturing feedback and obtaining approvals
• Provide support to senior team members in developing periodic progress reports, client presentations and workshops
• Support senior team members with the management of client relations and expectations including responding to client clarifications and technical issues
• Perform QA/QC activities for self and the design work of the team in order to deliver error free designs
• Assist with the preparation of Bills of Quantities, cost estimates and fee proposals and contribute to major bids
• Provide input and technical guidance to CAD Operators and junior level engineers working on the same project
• Perform field inspections, if necessary, to evaluate and assess the electrical design deliverables
• May be assigned to a project on a small to intermediate-size project

• Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or in a related field is a plus
• Strong knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position including AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, Ecodial
• Familiarity with international codes such as IEC, NEC, IEEE, IEEE, etc.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic; French is a plus
• 4+ years of industry experience in the electrical engineering field
