Position

The College of Islamic Studies (CIS) invites applications for a Professor position in Comparative Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in contributing to the MA in Comparative Education program, which integrates Islamic educational classical scholarship with contemporary global educational research and practices. This role requires a dynamic scholar well-versed and with a track record of experience and publications in comparative educational leadership and policy analysis, with a strong emphasis on incorporating Islamic worldviews and ethical frameworks.

Job Role Description
  • Develop and teach graduate-level courses in educational leadership, policy analysis, and comparative education with a focus on integrating Islamic and global perspectives.
  • Engage students through interactive methodologies, incorporating comparative pedagogical approaches and digital content.
  • Supervise and mentor MA and PhD students in their research projects and thesis work.
  • Conduct high-quality research in the field of educational leadership and policy analysis, emphasizing the application of Islamic principles and comparative methodologies.
  • Track record scholarly cutting edge scholarly publications.
  • Contribute to the scholarly community by engaging in collaborative research projects that address regional and global educational challenges.
  • Lead efforts in enhancing the MA in Comparative Education program by integrating innovative research, teaching methodologies, and policy analysis tools.
  • Support the program s mission to establish CIS as a hub of educational excellence within the global academic community.
  • Participate in academic committees and contribute to the development and implementation of strategic goals within the college.
  • Engage with local and international educational institutions, NGOs, and policymakers to promote the integration of the Islamic civilizational multiplex framework in educational leadership and policy.
  • Facilitate workshops, seminars, and professional development opportunities for educators and leaders in the region.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Comparative Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in educational leadership philosophy from a classical Islamic perspective and a strong background in comparative education.
  • Proven track record of research and publications that bridge Islamic and global educational traditions.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive academic environment.
Additional Requirements/Skills
  • Experience in curriculum design and development with an emphasis on integrating Islamic educational traditions.
  • Familiarity with educational policy-making in the MENA region or similar contexts.
  • Proficiency in Arabic is an asset, but not required.
