Roles & Responsibilities

Role Purpose:

- To lead the Procurement Operations Manager and support the HOD to execute duties associated with Procurement Operations including but not limited to the following:
Responsibility to ensure an effective VMCP operating model including policy and procedures, procurement technology, targeted governance and control, talent management of resources
Responsibility for management and execution of VMCP low level spend commodities on behalf of ADIB departments
Act as an enabler to increase VMCP overall spend influence to ensure value can be derived for all ADIB stakeholders
Where required, lead major negotiations and procurement activities, engaging and presenting to senior stakeholders
Proactively identify and reduce ADIB Risk across the supply chain
Proactively identify opportunities to develop and institutionalize VMCP brand

Key Accountabilities of the role

Thought Leadership
Lead VMCP reporting mechanisms to ensure reports provided to senior management with key information
Identify opportunities /provide support to HOD and Category Managers to increase spend under VMCP influence
Engagements with external thought-leadership to analyse industry best practices and identify opportunities to incorporate within ADIB
Own and develop risk management strategies for ADIB engagements with strategic and critical vendors

Business As Usual Focus
Continuous review of department P & P, mapping to technology and ADIB objectives to ensure risks are managed and value is created
Develop and implement formal awareness campaigns to ensure wider and appropriate understanding and adherence to VMCP Policy and Procedures
Drive the utilization of spend catalogue to ensure effective use of VMCP resources
Provide technology operational expertise to VMCP and internal customers, improvement program to increase technology utilization
Proactive management of the ADIB vendor commercial directory to ensure institutionalized competition, risk management and alignment to ADIB overall objectives
Effective management of VMCP low value and low risk spend commodity
Develop and implement voice of the customer (internal and external) and factor feedback into department roadmap
Lead the delivery of year-on-year savings for ADIB where opportunities exist to provide competitive advantage
Responsible for department reporting activities incorporating savings, risks BRCC, RSCA, ORM etc.

Governance & Controls
Ensure effective controls are in operation to manage the potential financial loss
Develop robust departmental KPI and KRI to ensure risks and value are identified and map to ADIB objectives
Develop suite of reporting tools to enable VMCP to demonstrate its compliance to all associated metrics
Act as point of contact for all engagements with Audit, ORM, ICD (etc.)

Financials & Benefits Realization
Where requested effectively lead major vendor negotiations to deliver value for ADIB
Liaise closely with Business teams to ensure accurate & robust budget monitoring against project plans
Input into the annual Savings Pipeline, generate and submit savings Track and monitor benefits realization against planned targets
Ensure effective management and delivery of team budget /cost
