Job Description

A Procurement Engineer plays a vital role in managing a company's supply chain and ensuring that the procurement needs are met efficiently and effectively. This role involves sourcing and purchasing raw materials and essential components required for manufacturing and production. As a Procurement Engineer, you will be responsible for negotiating with suppliers, managing contracts, and ensuring quality control of the incoming goods. The position demands comprehensive knowledge of the market, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to build lasting relationships with key vendors. Working closely with engineering and manufacturing departments, you will also ensure that the products meet the technical specifications and standards set by the organization. Responsibilities
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to meet quality standards and budget constraints.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to optimize cost savings for the company.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure procurement specifications align with technical needs.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials purchased.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed of industry trends and supplier capabilities.
  • Manage and update procurement databases to reflect accurate supplier and material information.
  • Prepare and analyze procurement reports to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and regulatory standards.
  • Resolve disputes or issues with suppliers concerning delivery, quality, or pricing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on procurement-related process improvements.
  • Participate in supplier audits and evaluations to maintain high-quality standards.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Engineer or in a similar procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier contracts effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities are crucial for successful procurement.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and resource planning tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building supplier relationships.
