Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and develop process safety-related drawings and layouts, including:
    • Escape route layouts
    • Fire & gas detection layouts
    • Firewater system layouts
    • Hazardous area classification drawings
    • Safety equipment location plans
  • Ensure designs are compliant with project specifications, ADNOC standards, and relevant international codes.
  • Support engineers by translating technical process safety input into design deliverables.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with process, piping, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Incorporate findings from safety studies (e.g., HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, FERA, EERA) into design drawings.
  • Revise and update drawings based on engineering reviews, client comments, and internal markups.
  • Maintain drawing quality, clarity, and consistency throughout the project phases.
  • Support deliverable tracking and document control processes.

Desired Candidate Profile

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in Engineering Design or Drafting.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in drafting/design for process safety within the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong experience in FEED, Detailed Design, and Detailed Engineering for onshore oil and gas projects.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other drafting/design software.
  • Familiar with ADNOC and international standards (e.g., NFPA, IEC, API).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
