Job Duties

Under direct supervision, the Associate Engineer will perform assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles. This includes learning chemical processes and what happens in those processes. They are typically responsible for learning a small process area or a single piece of equipment. This position is responsible for learning the operations, metrics, governmental, environmental and contractual requirements of the operation they have been assigned. Assists in day-to-day surveillance of operations, running Engineering Applications and conducting simple performance analysis, benchmarking and evaluation. Participates in risk assessments, forecasts and plans medium term needs to meet operational requirements, and responds to operational changes and needs in their area or single piece of equipment. Participates in the creation of Approval for Expenditure (AFE) and studies to solve recurring operational problems. Prepares reports and learns from knowledge management processes. A Bachelor&aposs degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
