Job Description Provide necessary safety precautions and calculations during FEED, quotation and pre-order stage, in accordance with company guidelines and procedures, to reach a for all parties involved to an acceptable solution for complex technical issues. The Application Engineer can act as lead engineer for larger and complex projects. Some of your tasks and activities:

• Understand the overall Data center value chain and translate the requirments into solutions based on Eaton portfolio. Work on detailed designs focused on busway (both LV & MV) and collaborate across business to offer complete DC solutions.
• Determine, instruct and drive the technical quality and content of the quotation process. To read, interpret and agree on customer specifications in order to create a competitive Eaton solution including mechanical, electrical, safety and control systems, SCADA and PLC software applications.
• Understanding of the Busway Design requirements (Codes, application guides & regulations) and Supporting during tendering stage the different customer requirements such as rating, system description, temperature protection, vibration insulations, so on.
• Work proactively with the teams to establish relationships with lead electrical consulting engineers, end users and design build contractors to promote the use of Eaton products (focus on primarily Busway product line but also considering switchgear , Tx , other Eaton MVPD product offerings) and solutions in their specifications and projects.
• Understand and interpret type test reports (e.g., ASTA and KEMA) and routine test procedures in accordance with IEC 61439-6 for LV busway systems. Support certification processes including DNV, ASTA, and other third-party approvals for LV busway systems, ensuring full compliance with IEC 61439-6.
• Evaluate mechanical tolerances and structural support requirements for busway joints and mounting systems in line with IEC 61439-6 mechanical integrity criteria.
• Ensure compatibility and coordination between LV busway systems and switchgear panels (e.g., Eaton xEnergy), including flange-end interface validation and performance testing.
• Develop pipeline through demand creation at influencers for relatively new product line for Eaton busway systems
• Work closely with busway business development managers in order to technically position Eaton busway product line by very early engagemnet on strategic DC accounts.
• Participate & understand current market requirements from customers to drive product technical features leading to future New Product Development (Involve in Gate 0) and evaluate risks in the segments.
• Lead technical evaluation, feasibility, clarification and execution of multiple projects in parallel while meeting requested return dates of the quotation engineer/ project engineer.
• Analyse electrical and/or mechanical faults by performing calculations and to advise customers about possible technical solutions with regards to complete (company own or competitive) systems, in close co-operation with sales management in order to solve customer s problems without endangering the company s image or financial position.
• Advise on 3rd party or special equipment materials (material cost and labour/engineering efforts)
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering is required (with electro-mechanical insights)
• Minimum 1-3 Years of experience in data center domain - Busway product specialization.
  
  
  

Skills

• Architecture & Technical knowledge regarding MV, LV, PSA including transformers/generators, packaged substations
• Experience in Busway installation & commissioning is a must within the transformer to LV gear or within all in power distribution container like interconnection between UPS and LV or within two pods including any factory and site testing
• Segment insights & Application, electrical and mechanical Engineering, Calculation, Studies and Manufacturing methods. Insights on Commercial aspects of Project
• Strong organizational, presentation, communication and time management skills, results driven
• Ability to work within an international, culturally diverse and matrix based organisation
• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit tools effectively to support the design and technical documentation processes is a plus to have
