Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect the overall Power BI solution, including data sources, ETL processes, and security layers.
  • Design and lead the implementation of scalable, high-performance data models in Power BI to support complex reporting requirements.
  • Optimize Power BI reports for performance, ensuring responsiveness for large datasets.
  • Ensure that Power BI environments comply with organizational security and compliance standards.
  • Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and Product Managers to align Power BI architecture with business goals.
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance on BI best practices, Power BI usage, and self-service BI strategies.
  • Participate and contribute training sessions and workshops for business users to enhance their understanding of Power BI tools and capabilities.
  • Continuously optimize Power BI solutions for performance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Support on Power BI quality, usage and troubleshoot performance issues related to data loading, DAX calculations, and report rendering.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Power BI features, trends, and industry best practices.
  • Oversee the deployment of Power BI solutions within an enterprise environment and develop/maintain the Enterprise Architecture Roadmap.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Master s degree in computer science, information technology, data science, or a related field (or an equivalent of 7+ years of practical experience in a tech-domain)
  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or data engineering roles.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI architecture, including Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop, and Power BI Embedded.
  • Proficient in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query (M Language) for advanced reporting solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling (star schema, snowflake schema), and database design principles.
  • Proven track record of implementing proof-of-concept (POC) backend solutions.
  • Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Azure SQL, etc.) and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Experience with big data architectures and large data volumes technologies (partitioned tables with billions of records, files with hundreds of GBs)
  • First proven leadership capabilities towards junior employees and a proactive approach to project management is a plus
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving abilities, as well as good communication skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools
  • Good proficiency in English as a day-to-day business language is a must

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on understanding of data modelling concepts and techniques as well as DevSecOps concepts and tools and practical experience in their implementation
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Working experience within the SAFE Agile framework is appreciated
  • Knowledge of SAP BW (extractors, transformations, queries, data export) and Azure Data Sources would be appreciated
