Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Manage research timelines and workflows, ensuring deliverables meet deadlines and quality, and upholding ethical standards. Including utilizing program management software.
- Report to and work closely with the Lead PI (and PIs,) following their leadership to implement the project's vision and deliverables successfully.
- Fieldwork: Qualitative and quantitative research, and actively coordinate and participate in recruitment, data collection, and data analysis including data management and classification.
- Maintain relationships with established local partners, provide meeting and workshop coordination, and provide advanced Arabic-English translation and interpretation during interviews or meetings and email correspondence.
- Project Outputs: Drafting scholarly articles, policy briefs, supporting documents and other deliverables, while mentoring team members on research methodologies and writing.
- Administrative Oversight: Oversee the organization of meetings, events, and logistics; ensure compliance with funder and DI guidelines; and prepare detailed progress reports for funding agencies.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
PhD specializing in a closely related field within the social sciences. A clinical background is preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Solid experience in Qualitative and quantitative research and research project coordination
- Preferred experience working full-time grant funded position.
- Published track record in relevant fields
br> REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Fluency in English and Arabic, and the ability to conduct project activities orally and in writing in both languages (including translation and transcription)
- Strong analytical and writing skills.
- Experience with in-depth interviewing and upholding high ethical and confidentiality standards
- Demonstrated knowledge of Qatar and the cultural context
- Ability to engage and work with persons across the life span and various Arabic dialects
- Experience and proficiency with specialized statistical software including SPSS and qualitive software NVIVO and working with large datasets.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high quality.
- Proficiency in file organization related to large datasets
- Strong presentation skills and ability to facilitate activities
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

Desired Candidate Profile
The successful applicant should have a PhD in Social Work, Anthropology, Psychology, or any related field, with a preferred background in a clinical field. The ideal candidate should have experience working in a full-time research grant position and possess competence in essential administrative skills. The applicant should have proven working knowledge and experience in conducting literature reviews, advanced qualitative and quantitative research skills, data analysis, and writing high-quality research papers. The applicant must have excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills, with a focus on contributing to the collective success of the project. Preference given to candidates in Qatar.

The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies
The term of appointment will be up to 12 months, subject to renewal starting in mid December 2025, for work on an externally sponsored research grant. We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to work in a unique research project funded until 2027 by the Qatar Research Development and Innovation Council (QRDI) - Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) titled Family Legacy: Developing a Grounded Theory about Intergenerational Family Storytelling in Qatar" led by the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) represented by Dr. Mahasin Saleh the Lead Principal Investigator. The collaborating institution is Qatar University. A key aim of the research project is to explore the function, purpose, and benefits of intergenerational family stories in Qatar to develop a grounded theory about intergenerational storytelling in a diverse Arab context. The successful applicant will be based at the DI. The project will operate within the Research & Grants Department.
