Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough vessel inspections to ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and company protocols, identifying potential safety hazards and operational deficiencies.
  • Verify and validate all vessel documentation, including certificates, licenses, and permits, to guarantee adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and oversee the safe and efficient embarkation and disembarkation of crew and passengers, managing logistical aspects and ensuring adherence to security protocols.
  • Facilitate communication between the vessel's crew, port authorities, and other stakeholders, acting as a central point of contact for all port-related matters.
  • Monitor and manage the vessel's cargo operations, ensuring proper handling, storage, and documentation of goods, while adhering to safety regulations.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of vessel activities, incidents, and discrepancies to relevant parties, including internal management and external agencies.
  • Supervise and coordinate the provision of essential port services, such as pilotage, tug assistance, and bunkering, ensuring their efficient execution.
  • Address and resolve any operational challenges or emergencies that may arise during the vessel's port stay, minimizing disruptions and ensuring safety.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of local port regulations, customs procedures, and industry best practices to ensure smooth and compliant operations.
  • Act as a liaison between the vessel and local authorities, including customs, immigration, and health officials, to facilitate smooth port clearances.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required, with a preference for candidates holding a maritime-related degree or certification.
  • Prior experience working within the port industry is a must, with a comprehensive understanding of port operations and regulations.
