Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Project Auditor aims to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of governance, administrative control, and operational processes throughout all phases of the project life cycle (from planning to delivery). The role focuses on identifying weaknesses, risks, and improvement opportunities to ensure that project objectives are achieved according to approved timelines, budgets, quality standards, and policies while promoting transparency and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Governance and Oversight: Evaluate governance structures, roles, and decision-making processes to ensure effective project control and alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Procurement and Contract Compliance: Assess procurement practices, tendering processes, and contract management to ensure fairness, transparency, and adherence to policies and regulations.
  • Technical Design and Development Assurance: Review design procedures, approvals, and change management to confirm compliance with technical standards, stakeholder requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Financial Control and Risk Management: Examine budgeting, cost monitoring, and financial controls while assessing risk identification, mitigation, and reporting to prevent overruns and project delays.
  • Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance: Evaluate quality management systems and verify adherence to safety, environmental, and technical standards, ensuring accuracy of documentation and compliance with national regulations.
  • Audit Methodology and Approach: Apply a risk-based audit methodology utilizing various techniques, including document and policy reviews, stakeholder and project team interviews, data analysis, field testing, and benchmarking against local and international best practices.
  • Audit Deliverables and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive audit outputs, including detailed audit plans, preliminary and final reports with findings and corrective actions, and executive presentations summarizing key results and recommendations.

Key Competencies:

  • Comprehensive understanding of the construction project life cycle, risk management, quality, and cost control.
  • Strong analytical and evaluation skills.
  • Proficiency in preparing professional reports and presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English (spoken and written).
  • Familiarity with project management systems and analytical tools such as Excel and Power BI.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in in Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Certifications: Preferably PMP, CIA, or equivalent certifications in Project Management or Internal Auditing.

Experience:

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years in related field.
