Plant Manager – Aluminum Recycling (UAE) Doha factory for industrial investment

Location: AJMAN -SHARJAH , UAE Employment type: Full-time, on-site Reports to: CEO/Operations Director Start date: ASAP About Us We are Doha factory for industrial investment is launching a new aluminum recycling facility in the UAE, converting scrap into high-quality alloy ingots/billets for regional and export markets. We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager with end-to-end expertise in aluminum scrap processing—from raw material classification through melting, refining, casting, and dispatch. The Role You will own full P&L and operational responsibility: build the team, commission equipment, establish SOPs and HSE systems, and drive throughput, yield, quality, and cost efficiency from day one. Key Responsibilities • Commissioning & Setup – Lead installation, commissioning, and trial runs of shredders, sortation lines (incl. eddy current/optical), de-coaters, furnaces (reverberatory/tilting/rotary), filtration, flux injection, and ingot/billet casting lines. Create SOPs, preventive maintenance plans, critical spares lists, and training matrices. • Raw Materials & Processing – Define and enforce scrap specs (e.g., Twitch, Taint/Tabor, Tread, Talk, 6063, UBC, extrusion scrap). Set inbound QA/grade verification, moisture/contamination limits, radiation checks, and segregation strategy. • Metallurgy & Quality – Develop melt recipes/alloying strategies (e.g., ADC12/A380/LM24/AlSi9Cu3/6xxx) to meet customer specs. Run in-process QC with spectrometer/thermal analysis; manage dross, salt slag, and inclusions. Implement ISO 9001/14001/45001-ready systems; lead audits and certification roadmap. • Cost & Performance – Own mass balance, yield, energy intensity (kWh/t), flux/salt consumption, refractory life, and scrap recovery. Build should-cost models from scrap to finished ingot; track contribution margin by grade/product. Negotiate utilities/consumables; optimize melt schedules and changeovers. • People & Safety – Hire, train, and lead production, maintenance, and QA teams; build a safety-first culture (LOTO, hot-work, confined space). Ensure compliance with UAE environmental, permitting, and waste-handling regulations. • Commercial Support – Align production plan with sales; confirm feasibility of new customer specs; support trials and new alloy development. Plan inventory (scrap/flux/ingot) and dispatch; ensure on-time, in-full delivery. Qualifications • 8–12+ years in aluminum recycling/smelting with at least 3 years in a plant leadership or operations manager role. • Hands-on experience across scrap sorting & prep (shearing, baling, shredding, de coating), melting & refining (charge makeup, fluxing, degassing, filtration), casting (ingot sow/ingot/billet), finishing, and packing. • Strong command of scrap categories and contaminants (paints, oils, Fe/Si/Mg/Cu control), yield improvement, and dross management. • Demonstrated success commissioning new lines and ramping to nameplate capacity. • Proficient with MRP/ERP and production dashboards; strong Excel cost modeling. • Safety champion with proven ISO/QHSE implementation. • Bachelor’s in Metallurgy/Materials/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering (or equivalent). • English required; Arabic/Hindi/Urdu a plus. UAE/GCC experience preferred. KPIs (first 12 months) • Ramp to ≥ X t/day at ≥ Y% overall yield. • Scrap-to-ingot conversion cost reduced by ≥ Z% vs. initial baseline. • Energy intensity ≤ ___ kWh/t; rework/scrap rate ≤ ___%. • On-time delivery ≥ 98%; customer ppm ≤ ___. • Zero Lost Time Incidents; ISO 9001 readiness within 6–9 months.
