Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Portfolio Management:
- Develop and implement the overall project planning strategy, standards, and procedures for the organization.
- Oversee the integration of multiple project schedules into a master program or portfolio schedule to provide a holistic view of resource allocation, interdependencies, and business-wide timelines.
- Analyze portfolio performance, identify trends, bottlenecks, and critical path risks, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
Team Leadership & Governance:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of planning engineers and schedulers, setting performance goals and ensuring quality and consistency in all planning outputs.
- Establish and enforce planning and scheduling standards, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry best practices.
- Review and approve all baseline schedules, major schedule updates, and recovery plans before submission to clients or management.
Advanced Analysis & Reporting:
- Direct complex schedule risk analysis (SRA) and what-if scenario modeling to support strategic decision-making and contingency planning.
- Prepare and present executive-level reports, dashboards, and presentations on portfolio status, forecasted completion, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all schedule-related matters during client or executive reviews and audits.
Process Improvement & Systems:
- Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, tools, and methodologies across the organization.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement advanced planning software and tools to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
- Collaborate with project managers, commercial teams, and the PMO to ensure integrated project controls (cost and schedule).
- Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in project planning, scheduling, and controls, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or team leadership role.
- Proven expertise in managing planning for large-scale projects or complex portfolios
- Expert-level proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 and advanced knowledge of schedule risk analysis software.
- PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)
- Chartered Project Professional (ChPP)
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence senior stakeholders, and present complex information clearly.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the interplay between schedule, cost, and contract.
