Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide effective, high-level leadership to ensure effective development and implementation of strategic planning, and its integration into other strategies and planning-related activities of the development and company.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive planning strategies that align with organizational goals, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Conduct data analysis to forecast future trends, enabling proactive decision-making and risk management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create integrated project plans, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned and informed.
  • Monitor and evaluate project performance metrics, making adjustments as needed to stay on track and within budget.
  • Facilitate regular planning meetings to review progress and address any emerging challenges or opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Lead the continuous improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies in current planning processes and implementing best practices.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with internal and external partners to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards throughout the planning and execution phases.
  • Mentor and guide junior planning staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional development within the team.
  • The Planning Manager will work with the Project Team to develop effective programmes and ensure these are monitored within the performance and management framework established for the development, thereby ensuring overall team success for timely delivery of projects, while minimising claims and disputes between project stakeholders.
  • lead, manage and motivate the Planning Team as well as making a high-level contribution to the Management team.
  • Implement best practice for planning functions in Mirage, ensuring the availability of a forum for planning discussions and development
  • Assist in compiling project proposals and offer advice on staffing allocations
  • Manage IT and software requirements for the planning department and offer guidance to leadership in this regard
  • Manage and motivate colleagues and the planning team
  • Monitor training requirements for the Planning Team and make recommendations to leadership in this regard
  • Develop initiation programmes and detailed plans for all development phases
  • Develop an overall development project progress control system for all phases
  • Effectively present project plans to stakeholders
  • Ensure supplier programmes are compliant and in line with the detailed plan and progress monitoring systems
  • Monitor the Rate of Progress of each supplier to ensure that this is consistent with the project plan
  • Conduct regular progress updates with the Project Manager, anticipate problems before they arise and develop mitigation plans
  • Provide action plans for the recovery of slippage and implement these with suppliers
  • Establish and agree the level and frequency of reporting required by the project
  • Ensure all supplier claims are properly analysed and reviewed with the Project Director and appropriately responded to
  • Close out planning functions for each project and ensure of data is correctly administered for the project
  • Integration of all project functions into a program level master programme
  • Provide detailed input for reports and make recommendations
  • Conduct meetings, produce minutes and drive outcomes
  • Other planning management duties as assigned by the Project Director / Senior Project Manager

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Tertiary qualification (University Graduate) in either Project Management, Building Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture or similar plus a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in a planning / project management role
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field, with a Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in planning or project management, preferably within the manufacturing or construction industries.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) are highly desirable.
  • Proficient in planning software tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and advanced Excel functions for data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate within cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptable and resilient, thriving in dynamic environments and effectively managing changing priorities.
  • Culturally aware and able to work effectively in diverse teams, with a preference for candidates from various backgrounds.
  • Extensive experiential learning in the construction industry (15 years plus)
  • Progressively increased responsibility over career duration
  • Relevant projects of an appropriate scale
  • Experience with ground up / new construction is preferred
  • UAE experience preferred
  • Active membership of a relevant professional institution is an additional consideration
