Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The planning engineer will be responsible for monitoring, and controlling a L3 P6 project schedules for the project developed by the EPC contractor as a PMC role. The Schedule shall be verified against the contractual milestones and analyzed in terms of reliability of timing. The role requires ensuring that all project activities are planned, tracked and reported in accordance with PMC standards and client requirements and Saudi Aramco Standards.


  • Ensure that the contractor develops, implements, and maintains detailed project schedules in line with project execution plans.
  • Review and verify contractor schedules against contractual milestones, highlighting any deviations.
  • Ensure that the contractor shall coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to gather progress reports, critical path analyses, and look-ahead schedules to management and the client.
  • Analyze delays, identify risks, and propose mitigation measures.
  • Monitor contractor progress and performance against baseline schedules, highlighting deviations and corrective actions are identified and implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with PMC standards, project control procedures and client reporting requirements
  • Manage the PMC cost engineer activities in verifying the progress of the EPC Contractor
  • Support claims analysis and extension of time assessments as required.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in project planning and scheduling in diversified engineering and construction of major / Large projects including at least 5 years in wither petrochemical or heavy technology industries
  • Utilization of critical path network analysis using Primavera (P-6) products. Capable of evaluating project scheduling, planning issues and reporting problems.
  • Prior experience with Saudi Aramco projects or similar major Oil & gas operators is highly desirable.
  • Experience in yard/fabrication projects (jackets. Offshore structures) is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills. With the ability to interface effectively with contractors, PMC teams, and clients.
