Piping Material Engineer

Develop, maintain, and validate Piping Material Specifications (PMS) for offshore production facilities, ensuring alignment with process and mechanical requirements.

Define and manage piping classes, incorporating design pressures, temperatures, corrosion allowances, and environmental conditions specific to offshore service.

Review and approve Material Selection Diagrams (MSDs) and coordinate with Process, Corrosion, and Structural teams for consistency and integrity of material selection.

Lead material compatibility assessments for different service fluids (e.g., sour, seawater, high pressure/high temperature).

Evaluate and approve vendor technical documentation, valve datasheets, and special piping component specifications.

Support procurement activities, including technical bid evaluations (TBE) and vendor qualification.

Interface with fabrication yards and construction teams to resolve material issues during manufacturing and installation.

Required Skills

Bachelor s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.

Minimum 12-15 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas Offshore EPC projects (fixed platforms, FPSO topsides, subsea systems).

Proven expertise in piping class creation, material selection, and development of Piping Material Specifications (PMS).

In-depth knowledge of ASME, ASTM, API, ISO, NORSOK and other applicable international standards.

Familiar with offshore fabrication, installation, and commissioning requirements.

Proficient in Smart Plant Reference Data (SPRD), Smart 3D, or equivalent design tools.

Fluent in English verbal and written.
