Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret isometric drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, and spool drawings for piping fabrication and installation.
  • Measure, cut, thread, bend, and prepare pipes using hand tools, power tools, and machines.
  • Install and align piping systems including carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy, GRE/GRP, and other materials.
  • Carry out pipe fitting, alignment, and tack welding in preparation for welding.
  • Fit up and assemble spools, flanges, valves, gaskets, and supports as per drawings and standards.
  • Ensure piping installation follows the correct slope, alignment, and orientation.
  • Conduct hydrostatic, pneumatic, and leak testing support for piping systems.
  • Perform modifications and tie-ins to existing systems safely.
  • Follow strict HSE procedures, including confined space and hot work requirements.
  • Report material shortages, defects, and progress to supervisors.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in safe operating condition.
  • Assist QA/QC inspectors during inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5+ years of pipe fitting experience, with at least 3 years in the Oil & Gas industry (onshore/offshore).
  • Ability to read and interpret piping drawings, isometrics, and standards (ASME, API, ASTM).
  • Knowledge of different piping materials and fitting techniques.
  • Familiar with hydro testing and system reinstatement.
  • Basic knowledge of welding procedures and safety practices.
  • Trade Certificate / ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or related field preferred.
  • Offshore work requires valid BOSIET / H2S / Offshore Medical certification (if applicable).
