Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments accurately, tailoring approaches to the unique needs of infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Monitor vital signs and assess patients' conditions continuously, identifying subtle changes that may indicate a worsening condition and proactively communicating concerns to the medical team.
- Provide comprehensive patient and family education on disease management, medication instructions, and preventive care, empowering families to actively participate in their child's health journey.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring a holistic approach to each child's well-being.
- Assist with medical procedures, such as IV insertions and wound care, demonstrating proficiency and maintaining a sterile environment to prevent infections.
- Offer emotional support to children and their families during stressful hospital stays, fostering a comforting atmosphere that promotes healing.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution, demonstrating a strong foundation in nursing principles.
- Holds a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, ensuring legal authorization to provide nursing care.
- Maintains current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, showcasing the ability to handle pediatric emergencies.
- Has a minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric nursing, providing a proven track record of clinical expertise and patient care.
- Demonstrates a preference for candidates who are US citizens or permanent residents, complying with employment regulations.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken, enabling effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues.
