Roles & Responsibilities

Role Summary


The Pattern Master is responsible for developing, perfecting, and maintaining high-precision garment patterns that reflect the brand’s luxury standards, craftsmanship, and design vision. This role plays a critical part in translating creative concepts into impeccably constructed garments, ensuring fit, balance, and quality at the highest level.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop first patterns from designer sketches, technical drawings, and drapes, ensuring accuracy, balance, and luxury-level fit.
  • Collaborate closely with the Creative Director, designers, and atelier team to interpret design intent and propose technical solutions.
  • Execute pattern adjustments and grading for prototypes, fittings, and final production.
  • Lead and participate in fittings, analyzing fit issues and implementing precise corrections.
  • Create and maintain detailed pattern documentation, including measurements, construction notes, and fabric behavior considerations.
  • Ensure patterns are optimized for luxury materials, embellishments, and complex constructions.
  • Supervise and guide junior pattern makers and sample makers, ensuring consistency with brand standards.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure patterns are production-ready without compromising quality.
  • Maintain strict adherence to quality, craftsmanship, and timeline requirements.

Required Qualifications & Skills


  • Minimum 2 - 5 years of experience as a Pattern Master or Senior Pattern Maker within a luxury or high-end fashion house.
  • Strong expertise in flat pattern making and draping (moulage).
  • Exceptional understanding of garment construction, tailoring, and couture-level finishing.
  • Advanced knowledge of luxury fabrics, their behavior, and handling techniques.
  • Proficiency in pattern-making software (e.g., Gerber, Lectra, or equivalent).
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, creative environment.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
