Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales and Business Development:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets for electrical equipment.
  • Actively prospect for new clients and business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and market research.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, including contractors, distributors, consultants, and end-users in the industrial, commercial, and Oil & Gas sectors.
  • Conduct on-site visits to client locations to understand their technical needs and propose tailored solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations to prospective customers.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to close sales and ensure profitability.

2. Technical Expertise and Support:

  • Possess a deep understanding of electrical equipment, including but not limited to switchgear, transformers, motor drives, automation systems, and other related products.
  • Act as a technical advisor to clients, providing pre-sales support and answering technical inquiries about product specifications, applications, and performance.
  • Collaborate with the in-house engineering and technical teams to design and propose customized solutions for complex client requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.

3. Account and Relationship Management:

  • Manage a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and effectively, acting as the main point of contact for clients.
  • Provide post-sales support, which may include assisting with troubleshooting or coordinating with the service team for installation and maintenance.

4. Leadership and Management (for Managerial roles):

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales engineers and representatives to achieve individual and team sales targets.
  • Set clear sales goals and KPIs, and monitor team performance to ensure targets are met.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to develop the team's skills.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and performance metrics to prepare and present sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., marketing, logistics, finance) to streamline sales processes and operations.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field. A business or marketing degree with a strong technical background may also be considered.
  • Experience: Proven experience (e.g., 5+ years) as a Sales Engineer or Sales Manager in the electrical equipment or industrial automation sector. Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is a significant advantage.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, components, and applications.
  • Sales Skills: Strong negotiation, persuasion, and closing skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Soft Skills:
    Self-motivated and results-oriented with a proactive approach.
    Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
    Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
    Strong leadership and team management skills (for managerial roles).
  • Other:
    Valid driver’s license.
    Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
    Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho CRM) and Microsoft Office Suite.
