Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking a talented Oriental Pastry Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. This position requires a creative and experienced professional who can add flair and authenticity to our dessert offerings. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of traditional oriental pastries and the ability to innovate and recreate classic recipes with a modern twist. As a key member of the pastry department, you will work closely with other chefs to design and execute extraordinary desserts that delight our guests. This role demands a passionate individual who is dedicated to precision and excellence, with the ability to manage a team and the competence to maintain the highest standards of food quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Develop and create a diverse range of oriental pastries from scratch.
- Work collaboratively with the culinary team to design seasonal dessert menus.
- Ensure consistency in quality and presentation of all pastry products.
- Train and mentor junior pastry staff, sharing expertise on techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety standards.
- Source and select high-quality ingredients for all pastry creations.
- Ensure all pastries meet dietary and allergen considerations for guests.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed on a timely basis.
- Stay updated on pastry trends and incorporate innovative techniques.
- Oversee the operation of pastry equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Propose new concepts and improvements for existing pastry offerings.
- Collaborate with marketing to promote pastry features or special events.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Oriental Pastry Chef in a reputable kitchen.
- Extensive knowledge of traditional and modern oriental pastry techniques.
- Culinary degree or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Exceptional creativity, with a passion for culinary arts and innovation.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills for team collaboration.
